Completing a course and understanding its content are different things
A certificate of attendance shows that someone took part. To understand which topics they have mastered, you need relevant questions, assessment criteria and a view of results that goes beyond a final score. Preparing all of this takes work, especially when courses change and materials are spread across different documents.
Saperia was designed to address this problem: use course content as the starting point for study and assessment, while leaving trainers to decide what to assess and review what the system generates.
The pathway starts with the trainer’s course materials
The trainer uploads the course materials. The platform processes them to create study content and questions, organised around the competence areas defined for that pathway.
Configuration includes thresholds, question types and the weighting of different assessment formats. Trainers review the generated question bank: AI generation is a preparation step, not automatic approval of the test.

Quizzes and scenarios assess different things
A structured question can check specific knowledge. A scenario can ask learners to explain how they would handle a situation. Saperia offers both formats, including within the same pathway.
In conversational assessment, scenarios are presented one at a time through written chat or a voice conversation. Scores for each area feed into the same results system used by quizzes.

Use the results to decide what to revisit
The documented pathway includes an initial assessment, study materials linked to identified gaps, and a later assessment. Results by area help distinguish topics already mastered from those to revisit.
The platform distinguishes practice quizzes from assessment quizzes: practising during study and checking knowledge serve different purposes. Reports collect pathway results and help trainers monitor progress. They support professional assessment; they do not automatically certify competence.
The result: a product that brings preparation, study and assessment together
Yempik developed a platform with distinct roles for course creators, company-side managers and learners. Materials, assessment settings and results are part of the same pathway.
Saperia was later transferred to a training provider. This case describes the product’s development and features; it does not report a measurement of learning effectiveness at a specific customer.
The project’s central design choice was to combine automated preparation with trainer oversight. A quickly generated question is useful only if it tests what the course is intended to teach.
